FAQ’s
Who can attend Justin’s Place 2023 summer camps?!
Camps are available to kiddos ages 5-12 with a diagnosis of a disability. Due to our current facilities, campers must be able to walk on uneven terrain & walk up 3 steps. Disability diagnosis must be listed on your Physician Form. All campers MUST submit a Physician Form (provided by Justin’s Place) 2 weeks prior to your camp date. Each child for risk behaviors at registration in order to provide necessary accommodations for support and safety.
What types of things will my child be doing?
Justin’s Place offers hands-on learning with a variety of barnyard animals, learning games and sensory activities. Kiddos will enjoy free play time in outdoor spaces. Please note the schedules above for a general plan for each day. More details will be provided for campers prior to start date.
What should we bring to camp?
All campers need to bring a packed lunch, water bottle and snack with their name on it. If your child has severe or anaphylactic allergies, please provide any emergency medications needed. Kids are welcome to bring any fidget or comfort items needed. Justin’s Place does not assist with toileting needs. If you’re kiddo wears pull ups, we ask that you stay within 15 minutes of our property to assist if needed.
What is the parent involvement in camp?
If you feel it would be in your child’s best interest to participate in camp with them, we allow parent involvement for parents who have completed our online training. If your child may need toileting assistance, there are a few great places in town to hang close by! Check out the hiking trails at the Palisades, Subway, Solomon’s Porch, The Local Confectionary and Drinklings.
What do we need to do before camp?
All campers must complete a parent chat phone call and attend a Meet & Greet day prior to the start of camp. Meet & Greet days will be April 2 11:00-3:00, April 22 1:00-5:00, and May 7 11:00-3:00. This will be a 10-15 minute opportunity to see our farm and for staff to meet with your child. Campers attending riding camp will be fitted to a helmet at this time.
