Safety Hoolahoop

One of the ways we teach our kiddos safety around their horse is through visual aids. When working with our ponies in the sand, we teach them to stay out of the hoolahoop! Because abstract thinking can be challenging for many of our participants- this marking in the sand along with “keep your feet outside of the circle” is usually enough information to keep our kids safe. While our ponies are desensitized to most stimuli including kids being all around their bodies- we want to enforce body awareness, keeping our bodies in a safe area, and sensing potential dangers.
