Volunteer of the Month - Amia Kurs

Our volunteer of the month is Ms. Amia Kurs! Amia has been volunteering with us for 2 years now and has accrued the most volunteer hours of anyone- over 500 hours!! Other than the occasional trail ride as a kid, Amia didn’t really have much experience with horses until she came to Justin’s Place. She expressed a desire to learn though and is now an awesome horse leader and has learned a lot!

When asked about why she volunteers, Amia said “I was raised with the belief that the world around us is broken, and that it is up to us to try to repair it during our time on earth. Volunteering gives back to the community and does good in the world, one kid at a time.”

One thing she loves about JP is seeing how an entire community of people and animals come together to make a difference in a kid’s day/life.
