What is Stable Moments?

Stable Moments is a worldwide mentorship program! It pairs a trained volunteer with a child and a horse for an hour per week1 This program is specifically designed for children with early developmental trauma, such as those in foster care or have been adopted. Stable Moments provides all the training, knowledge and support needed to be a caring, consistent mentor! This mentorship typically lasts 5 to 10 months.

What is Stable Moments Mobile?

This is a slightly modified version of this program that takes mentors INTO our local schools. This overcomes the barriers of payment, transportation and time for families whose children may need support the MOST! Believe it or not, we still include horses in this program! Our mini ponies travel to the schools a few times per semester and the program ends with a field tirp to the farm! This program runs 5 months at a time during the school year.

Why me?

Believe it or not, you are likely a perfect mentor!! An ideal mentor is someone over age 16, who is able to commit to an hour each week at the same day and time, has an open mind to learn new ideas and understands that simply being consistent is often all a child needs!! Extra bonus points if you are encouraging, friendly, love kids, like to play and have worked with foster youth before!
