What is horse appreciation?
Our horses play a vital role in our program and give their all both physically and emotionally. However, they do experience burnout and frustration at times. To address this issue, our staff came up with the idea of horse appreciation. This involves dedicating time for our horses to just be horses, without the pressures of being ridden or used for lessons. During these sessions, we encourage positive human-horse interactions such as grooming, hand grazing, and even indulging in Christmas treats! We believe that by holding space for our horses to explore and satisfy their curiosity, they will be happier and more engaged in their work. Ultimately, this approach benefits both our horses and our participants, as it ensures that our equine partners are healthy, happy, and well-cared for.
